I’ve just watched the whole first season of The Vampire Diaries. I was hesitant since it looked like some horrible Twilight/Sweet Valley High ripoff mix, but I gave it a try anyway. And actually… it’s ok.
I don’t give a fuck about Elena and Stefan (just like I didn’t give a fuck about Edward and Bella. What are the odds?) and overall it’s just the usual high school drama with rather lame vampires, but it’s ok. It’s light entertainment, good for a lazy Saturday afternoon when you got nothing better to do.
AND! Ian Somerhalder is in it. Which of course is an excellent reason to watch and enough to make me a huge fan *notatallshallow* :P He may very well be the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen.
And I’m also waiting for the werewolves! Or what I hope will be werewolves anyway! There’s been some hints with fullmoons and violent outbursts and once I did catch a glimpse of a yellow eye 8O
I will be so disappointed if it turns out to be just some weird kind of demon or something…
Is it wrong of me to watch a show just because I love one character?
Or to watch a show about vampires just because it might have werewolves in it?
I never got into the whole Twilight thing, I waded my way through the first book and was unimpressed so I didn’t read anymore. Jen and I caught part of the movie, which I only watched because Alice (the character and Ashley Greene) is ADORABLE.
Anyway, I vowed to never touch any lame vampire book or movie again. My sister told us we HAD.TO.WATCH.TRUE.BLOOD. and to which I said no way, the only vamp stuff I like is Bram Stoker and Anne Rice.
Well, she got us the first season of True Blood for Christmas and holy hell. The series is amazing. It’s definitely not for kiddies, it isn’t lame and it’s just… Love.
I really like the comic strip, funny and nicely drawn :)
That’s not wrong at all. :D I think I only watched Supernatural for the two brothers, and nothing else. Perhaps that’s why I got bored after three seasons. It’s not a crime at all. ;) Vampire fiction isn’t really for me, whether it’s novels or shows. There was a webseries on vampires which was quite interesting but it seemed to be more of a subplot. I’ll admit that they do get rather creative.
Lovely comic strip! :D
Love the comic and you’re right…he is definitely the only reason to watch that show! I’ve read most of the Vampire Diary books and I enjoyed them but not enough to want to keep up with the rest of the series.
I love the comic! XD
I forced myself to read Twilight, just to see what the fuss was about… I’ll never get those hours back. Ugh – even 13 year old me would have been unimpressed. Anne Rice all the way baby!
Ahh, Damon!
I think it’s perfectly fine to watch a show just because someone you like is in it. I like Twilight because of Edward but also because of Jasper lol. But I must admit that I like the story too.
I have to agree with the first commenter. True Blood was absolutely awesome. I can’t say much for Vampire Diaries because I never watched it, but I will readily admit that I will willingly watch a show that I hate because it has a pretty guy in it. (Yes I really am that shallow)
I couldn’t get into the vampire shows, I couldn’t really avoid the Twilight movies either because my friends all love them. But I’m with you on the werewolves. They need to make a werewolf, and then I’ll watch.
Yeah, this vampire trend has been going on for long enough – why can’t werewolves get this popular!? :P
I have never seen this show! I’m not big on the vampire trend… but I do need a show to watch now that all the seasons are cluing up for summer. Maybe I’ll check it out. :)
