Today we celebrated Saint Lucy’s Day here. Or simply Lucia as we call it. It’s not a real holiday per se, just a tradition. A mix of a pagan light goddess and a Catholic saint. I can’t be arsed to write a whole article about it so just read the Wiki page if you’re interested… :P
At work they served us cake and cookies and we watched a Lucia concert on TV. And the whole day my Facebook feed and Instagram have been full of dressed up kids. Didn’t get to see any real live Lucias though.
Lucia is nowhere near as big in Norway as in Sweden, it’s mostly celebrated in day cares and schools. It’s a little sad, really, I was always fascinated by the slightly eerie feeling when the lights are turned off and the singing starts. We do eat lussekatter though ;)
Oh oh oh and I forgot to comment about the Hobbit! YAY! I hope you enjoy it :D
YESSS THE HOBBIT!
Gorgeous art! I love the way you drew her face.
