It’s summer again

Imaginary Karin - midsummer 2013 drawing

A little more than a week ago, on June 21st, was the summer solstice. Midsummer, the longest day of the year. So this means it’s summer for real now and I for one just started my 4 weeks long summer vacation!

Freeeedoooooooommm!!! as William Wallace would’ve put it :yay:
(sans the decapitation)

Our only plans this year is to go visit our parents and also a short trip to Stockholm, which will be fun as I’ve never been there as a tourist before. Other than that I’m just going to be as lazy as possible. ;)

Is anyone else doing anything fun this summer?
Or maybe you live on the other side of the equator and is in the middle of winter right now..?

Aahhh summer! I need to go to Cedar Point this year at least once, and go camping! Trips to the beach and walking in the woods are a given. Have fun!

Wait, what, summer? Where? :D I still wear a jacket outside, and freeze inside my office. Because, you know, it’s “summer” so they have to turn on the air conditioning ;) But hopefully we’ll have a little summer soon!

Beautiful picture, by the way! :D

Yeah, we haven’t had the best of weather either… But I’m not a fan of heat so I don’t complain :) And thank you!

    Lovely art, as always!

It has been sweltering hot since May here, so I’m already looking forward to autumn. :P

We’re planning a bonfire with friends soon, and I’ll be picnicking and hiking in the mountains with my family. I love going to the beach in the summer, but sadly, I don’t think we’ll get to do that this year. :/

I’m looking forward to autumn too! Don’t you feel ungrateful when it’s in the middle of summer and you’re already planning for fall? I know I do, haha XD

So I’m curious, do you have to take 4 weeks off in a row or can you spread them through out the rest of the year? I think you are pretty lucky to have so much time off! I’m jealous. I am also enjoying summer and the long warm days! Yay.

Actually it’s standard here (I’m talking about the whole country now, not just my job in particular) to have 25 days/5 weeks off every year – and while you usually can spread it out however you wish the most common is to have 4 weeks off in a row in the summer and then use the remaining days whenever. Since our climate is what it is it’s natural for people to want to have vacations in the summer. Lots of companies even close down completely in the summer because everyone’s on vacation.

That artwork is beautiful! That’s awesome that you have 4 weeks of vacation. I could really use a break right now, haha. I’m going to a couple Anime conventions but have no other summer plans. I will probably take a big trip later on instead. I hope you have a good vacation!

Happy Summer! We’ll be having fun celebrating my mother-in-law’s birthday, my birthday on July 28th, Jen’s birthday on September 10th, my sister Lori’s birthday and then it’s mine and Jen’s six year wedding anniversary on September 13th! Woohoo, Summer! Right now, my goals revolve around July, including eating better breakfasts, cleaning our room before my birthday, taking better care of my skin and enjoying Summer as much as possible as I am totally an Autumn girl!

Have a fabulous season, friend! :yay:

I love that artwork! How long did it take for you to do that?

My summer plan? Nothing really except getting ready for graduate school…and also my part-time job teaching kids how to play the violin. It’s nice to make a bit of money.

Question: any recommendation for an American tourist hoping to visit Scandinavia in the winter?
