First day of spring

Photo from Stock Xchng

Today is the spring equinox! :yay:
We’ve been having very pleasant weather lately, the sun has really broken through the cold and is actually quite warm now. Everything the sun rays hit starts melting and dripping. A puddle the size of a small country has been formed outside my door.
The snow will probably stay for another month or so, but right now it really feels like spring. Even if there’s still some winter left to take care of, the equinox means we’ve made it to the other side of the year at least.

I spent the day cleaning mostly. I washed (almost) every window in the apartment + cleaned the window frames + put up new, brighter curtains everywhere. Except in the bedroom, there I got darker curtains :P
I have thin, white curtains up for the winter but when the sun comes back it gets to bright so I have to put up heavy, black ones instead. I don’t mind sleeping in sunlight, but Markus complains so black it is.

And yesterday there was the Super Full Moon, did you get to see it? The sky was clear so I saw it. It was huge and bright and all, but honestly not as huge as I had imagined.

I heard about the moon way too late, people on the other side of the world (opposite me in Australia) were talking about it and I knew I’d missed it. Dang. I love seeing a full moon all the time, shame I didn’t see the supermoon.

I always have the same curtains. I think it would be a nice idea to change curtains depending on the season, though. In summer the light goes through our peachy curtains and it looks like crap. Then again I still live with my parents, I did ask them if I could paint my walls black in my bedroom but they said no. XD

In Australia apparently we don’t follow the solstices and equinoxes, though I think we should, rather than just picking at the first of the month. It gets boring. :P

I change almost everything in my home depending on the season. Not the furniture and the carpets, but I put up other decorations and change pillows and such. I think it gives me a sense of being in tune with what’s going on outside :)

I’m so excited that it’s Spring already. I didn’t feel like the winter was that bad, at least not here. And the moon, I didn’t know about it so I never looked. But I heard that it was pretty big.

Yesterday was the first day of spring? I never catch up on these things, aha. Well, anyways, thanks for reminding me. LOL. I’m glad it’s spring, I normally hate winter because of how cold it is but it gives me an excuse to stay inside. XD

The weather where I live has been weird. It was sunny at first then raining (more like pouring water haha) then the next morning sunny! I didn’t even see a [double] rainbow, although, I really wanted to.

I heard about the moon and I wanted to see it, but it was way to foggy where at San Francisco. D: I was really pissed off, because I’m really into these events. :fuckyou:

I love your layout and the roses. And I love your smiles! Thank you for making them. <33 They're a work of art, they're beautiful. Keep up the good work! I totally adore your talent.

Firstly, you have a really, nice layout + artwork. This is my first time I’ve stumbled onto your site, and I loved browsing through your gallery :D

We don’t have spring break here in Singapore. No snow, no seasons. I’m missing out on a lot from the outside world :(

But yes, we have full moon :D (I mean, obviously!) And I missed it. I was watching Harry Potter :/

I did not get to see the moon thing; the way people explained it, though, it seems like it was a pretty cool thing to see? That explains why the moonlight kept shining through my window at night for about a week or so!!

    Happy spring! :)

Whoops – I forgot to reply to your comment! D:

Yes, I had 67 categories, and I now have merely 15!! :D It’s quite … nice, refreshing, pleasant.

I’m slowly editing my tags.  :yay:

I’m always glad for a clear night on the full moon, but I was also a little disappointed. I think everyone was expecting it to look gigantic! But looked almost normal. XD Its cool how it happened on the Spring equinox though. I hope it warms up for you quickly! We just got some very light snow here last night.

I went to see the equinox at the prehistoric temples – we got up really early (3.30am to see the sunrise at 6.15) – on the 21st the sun’s rays hit exactly the central temple doorway :3 so magical, especially when you think that hundreds of years ago this same show was witnessed by people as well :3 – i’m such a history geek ;)

Unfortunately i was also disappointed with the super full moon :/ it wasn’t as big as i’ve imagined it would be as well – infact i couldn’t spot much of a difference from the usual size!
