Filling a frame
Some weeks ago I got hold of two beautiful black ornamented frames, but since I didn’t have anything to put in them they just ended up being put away in a drawer.
Then I got an idea…
I always save pretty things I find. Buttons, odd earrings, sequins, little ribbons etc. Everything goes into a special box in my bedroom that is full of little trinkets like that.
Well, I figured if I just took the glass off the frames I could make something using those trinkets!
I decided upon a little flat metal heart that used to be a charm on a bracelet, a little jewelled bow that fell of a bra, a big round metal ornament that I think used to be part of an earring and a black diamond-like plastic thing that I have no idea where it’s from.
I used two aquarelle papers since it’s rather thick and sturdy and drew some shapes on them with a black ink marker and added some red watercolour. Then I glued on the embellishments on each paper and added a passe-partout for each to add some depth.
Ta daa! I think it came out kinda cute ^_^
Maybe I should have worked some more with the hearts, they look a little flat. But it’s fine for now :) Besides, I can always draw or glue on something more later if I want to.
Do you keep small things like this too?
Or am I the only one collecting shiny stuff like a bloody magpie? :P
