Bye bye Bella

As you might know we have had a foster cat named Bella living with us for a while. Almost 6 months to be precise, she came to us from the local animal protection association in August last year.

And now she has left.

They called this weekend and told me a woman was interested in adopting her and yesterday evening that woman came to our apartment to pick Bella up and take her to her new home. For a while we talked about keeping her, but truth be told I think Bella is better off somewhere else. This lady apparently lives in a house out on the countryside, has no other pets and is retired so she’s home all day. Bella would love that! She could get all the attention she wants, be allowed to go outside and no annoying dog ;)

I’m definitely going to miss her though.

Every morning for these past months she would come up in our bed when the alarm goes off and curl up against me and purr (like she’s trying to stop me from getting up :P ) and this morning… nothing. No cat, no cuddle, no purr. Just the dog snoring in his basket.
He for one is not sad to see her go – for some reason she really liked his basket and he’s too much of a wimp to chase her away when she was sleeping in it. Lots of times the teeny tiny cat would be sleeping in the big dog bed and the dog would be sleeping on the floor next to it. Silly creatures ;)

What? Is perfect size.

I hope everything turns out well for her. And if it doesn’t, she’s welcome back to us :)

Aww. :( But it’s good to know she went to good home. :)

Have you thought about getting another cat?

Right now we’re just waiting to see if Bella is staying with this lady or not. But if she’s not coming back to us we’ll probably take in another foster cat after a while.
Even if it’s sad to see them go it still feels good to be able to help :)

aww! It’s sweet that she had a foster home with you for so long. Such a pretty kitty. I miss having cuddle time with my cat (she passed away last year). It’s really kind of cute that he left her have the bed, haha.

Aww, Bella is adorable! I think it’s really sweet that you’re opening your home to foster cats. I thought about doing that, and while my boy cat would be happy to have another cat in the house, I think the girl would flip (the boy is enough of a bother as it is -__-). But it must be sad that now she’s left, though it seems that she would definitely get all the love and attention she wants at her new owners :)

Aww, I could never foster a pet because I’d get way too attached. Kudos for doing it! That’s awesome! I hope Bella has a wonderful time. <3

Jag skulle aldrig kunna agera fosterhem åt nåt djur. Skulle inte klara av att lämna iväg dem igen ;) Men hub verkar ha fått ett nytt härligt hem iaf! :)

Aww! I would have a hard time letting her go. It sounds like she’s found a great new home, though. Bye, Bella! <3

Awwwe. The problem with me fostering animals is I end up keeping them. I’m glad that you were able to put that sweet kitty’s needs first. I’m sure she is happy chasing mice and worrying rabbits.

Aww ;( I hope she enjoys her new home!

Aw, bye kitty!! I wish that I had a kitty to start off with. I don’t think I would ever be able to foster though. I would fall in love with the kitty so hard and wouldn’t be able to give it up. Heck, I cat sat a friend’s cat for a week and I miss him so much still. I just really badly need a kitty of my own. If only my husband would let me….
