Right now it’s the most beautiful time of the year if you ask me. All the trees and bushes are dressed in the most intense flaming colours, from deep red to bright lemony yellow, and the air is crisp and clear without being to cold, so it’s nothing but pure joy to get out and see all of it! 🙂

It’s freezing during the nights now, the leaves and mild weather will be gone very soon, but today was lovely so I took a looong walk along the river with Zaphod, and I actually remembered to bring my camera!

(There are a few more photos on my flickr account.)

There are lots of old barns like this here, and I think they’re so pretty.

A waterfall under a bridge.

Another barn.

The path along the river. Zaphod’s camouflage colours work well this time of year.

I thought this was such a pretty little tree 🙂 It looks like a rainbow.

The sign says “Welcome to Myckle”,

I’ve added a new page to the pixelart section: Ponies!! 😀

I never played with dolls as a child, I didn’t like them, but I loved My Little Pony! I had like 80 of them + the Dream Castle and the Stable and a million other related stuff. I still have everything packed away in my basement. I’ve been thinking about taking it all up and clean it and maybe start collecting ponies as a hobby, but I don’t really have the space for it.

I actually finished the first pixel ponies a whole month ago and posted them on the Qbee Bee*Bee’S – and ended up making a whole bunch of custom ponies for the lovely members there. So it took me a while to finish making all the characters from Generation 1 that I wanted to do.
Do you recognize any of them?

The top left one is Trickles anyway, she was my favourite pony when I was little. ^_^

Check out the rest of the ponies at their own page!

So… I’ve been to the movie theatre for the first time in 2 years(!). Me and Markus saw the new Tarantino movie Inglorious Basterds:

“In Nazi occupied France, and a young Jewish refugee Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the slaughter of her family by Colonel Hans Landa. Narrowly escaping with her life, she plots her revenge several years later when German war hero Fredrick Zoller quickly takes an interest in her and arranges an illustrious movie premiere at the theater she now runs. With the promise of every major Nazi officer in attendance, the event catches the attention of the “Basterds”, a group of Jewish-American guerilla soldiers led by the ruthless Lt. Aldo Raine. As the relentless executioners advance and the conspiring young girl’s plans are set in motion, their paths will cross for a fateful evening that will shake the very annals of history.”

As a whole the movie was crazy and incredibly funny, at least if you like black humour. The characters were exaggerated just enough to make it comical, but not too much to make it stupid. Like Brad Pitt’s constantly wrinkled forehead and broad Tennessee dialect.

Hey look! A new layout 😀
I’ve had that pixel tattoo up for so long I’m sick of it. I’ve used it for two layouts now so all in all it’s been up since March. The grin on the skull was getting on my nerves… seriously.

Time for a change, and I really wanted something hand painted and natural this time. I also wanted something to celebrate the autumn, my favourite time of the year.
So… I made this. An elf maiden, dressed in green and autumn leaves, accompanied by a raven.

Imaginary Karin - autumn elf

There is the original drawing. Made with coloured pencils on cheap printer paper.
I think this might actually be the first time I’ve ever drawn an elf. Really strange since I’m such a fantasy nerd… Guess I just never remember to put pointy ears on my humans *lol*
But better late than never I guess. And I have been reading a lot of Tolkien lately, that might explain it.

A few months ago I found out about this new blogging platform Dreamwidth and was intrigued to investigate it.
100 years ago I had a LiveJournal account, but that was when I first started exploring this new Internet thing and as the n00b I was I never really managed to figure out how to use it or modify it to my liking. I started learning HTML and began building my own websites instead. 😛
Dreamwidth is by invite only, but I managed to get hold of one and made an account – and to my own surprise I’ve actually been using it too!

I like having a free and simple place to post, a place that is as private as I want it to be and where I’m free to post just about anything without a care in the world.
Now, of course I could make password protected posts here, but I don’t want to. I don’t like seeing password posts on blogs and I don’t want my visitors to be slapped in the face with them either. I could also make protected posts at my Swedish blog, but since many friends and co-workers and such are lurking around there they would only start pestering me with questions.
