Off to Scotland!

Well not right now, but soon!
In 2 weeks time me and Markus + his parents are travelling to Edinburgh! :D

Markus’s parents are big golf enthusiasts who enjoy visiting golf courses the world over. This year they wanted to go to Scotland and asked if we wanted to tag along. Of bloody course, I never pass an opportunity to travel!

I’m not a golfer though. I’ve tried a couple of times, but I can’t even hit the damn ball with the damn club… Not that I care, like most other sports golf doesn’t interest me at all, so I’ll leave the swearing and the bunkers to them. :P

This will be my first trip to Scotland so I’m really looking forward to it. I expect crappy weather, gorgeous old buildings, equally gorgeous scenery, and not being able to understand what people are saying.

The usual touristy stuff like the castle and the museums are already planned for, but I’m trying to find some more unique sights as well. I’m definitely trying haggis if I find it! We have a very similar dish in Sweden that I really like, so it would be fun to see what the difference is.

Do share if you have any tips for things to do and see in and around Edinburgh!

I’ve only been to Edinburgh once for a day and all we did was walk down Hollyrood road, went to the Parliament building and then visited a pub! If you’re a Harry Potter fan then you could always visit the place JK Rowling wrote some of the book? Anyway, have a great time!

PS UK is having a bit of a heatwave at the moment so you might be lucky weather wise!

Ooh, you mean The Elephant House? I have it on my list of places to see :D

I hate heat, so I’m actually hoping for grey skies and mild temperatures, haha! But as long as we don’t have heavy rain for 7 days straight I’m sure it’ll be fine.

I WISH I COULD GO!!! It’s on my dream list. I want to see Jen’s family’s castle (her clan is Maxwell!) Also, I’d love to try golf. I think I’d have fun. Right now, it’s croquet for me, as my Summer sport. ♥

    Have fun~!

Oh, I’m so jealous! Scotland is on my list of places to visit! I love Scottish accent, so I’d just be happy sitting at a pub in Scotland listening to people speak! :D

You have a fun time there!

I love Scottish accents too, but I’m kinda worried I won’t be able to hear what people say, haha! Oh well. ^_^

I hope you have a really great time! :D

That’s exciting that you’ll be visiting Scotland! I’m jealous. I wanted to travel there from London the last time I had a business trip, but I couldn’t fit it in :( I hope you have a great time and will share about your trip later!

Hi! New reader (linked from Nellies blog roll hehe).

Very jealous you are heading to Scotland! I’d love to go there one day! I love old buildings and the history that goes along with it. :) Recently I visited my nana who said our family served the old Scottish Royal family and we can wear their… Tartin? I don’t remember exactly what it’s called. But it gives me even more incentive to head over and explore the country!

I’m pretty sucky at golf, doesn’t help my vision is terrible!

I hope you have a fantastic time !
